Plan out something that they have to “explore” for. Make a fort with chairs and sheets that they can go through and help guide them to the prize (the cake, little goodies, etc)

wow theres not much you can do with that age group but sing some songs (itsy bitys spider etc)with parent participation. Maybe set up a finger paint station on the floor, have a mini dance(head and shoulders…the chicken dane…put your right foot in …). Keep the activities short and simple. Get them done so babies aren’t restless and parents can mingle. As far as food I have learned the simpler the better. Hot dogs and a variety of chips. Cold salads. Cheese and fruit trays. Cupcake cakes (easy serve easy to eat)

First of all, I’d like to say good choice on Dora. I’m doing a Dora theme for my daughter’s first birthday in May. If you want to buy alot of Dora themed things I found the best place is on.
There is some AWESOME stuff on there. And you can also print out some great Dora games and other great Dora party ideas at

    Hope this helps!

I have a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old and been to at least 20 toddler parties in the last 3 yrs.

    Here’s what I’ve learned.

Kid’s her age aren’t too interested in games. The more complicated and chaotic things are the more frustrating it becomes for them.
    Keep it simple.
I would just decorate the house with balloons, and colorful Dora decorations. Open up her bedroom and let the kids play on their own. Let them run a muck, probably messing your house up completely. You could chime into the free play by starting a chase game. Kids that age love to be chased. Maybe have Dora on TV, although in my experience the kids don’t do too much TV watching. I know it doesn’t sound like much, you’re probably dying to throw her a festive party, but seriously, at that age they enjoy just playing with all their friends. I would suggest a pinata but weather would have to permit it (unless you do it in the garage).

Food - whatever is you daughters favorite thing. If she loves PB&J then make a bunch of cute sammys with lunch meat and cheese for the adults. If she’s a corn dog eater than corn dogs and french fries. It’s her day. Whatever she likes should be the menu, with a little perk for the adults.

    Have fun and Happy Birthday!

you can have like a scavenger hunt, leading them through. you could have differant variaties of pin the tail on the donkey. have goodie bags definatly, little kids LOVE goodies. Cake, brownies, ice cream, and cookies are treats that age group ADORES. they also like playing games like follow the leader, simon says, hide and go seek, duck duck goose. make up twists to make them more fun too. for some reason they like fuzzy things. if its snowing you could dress them up and make a snow man outside, outside obsicle, if you have a lot of like playground equipment or raised equipment you can play white water, snowball fight.
you definatly want dora cups, plates, napkins, and bowls or else they get mad for some reason. have a dora cake.
give them an obstilce course, inside/out, with differant puzzles like in
    Dora.
also ask your daughter what she would like and give her these suggestions.
