Toddler Birthday RSVP?

I am having a party for my 3 year old. I handed out invitations 2 weeks ago and have only had 6 RSVP’s out of about 18 invites. Question is, do I call them, assume they are not coming or plan for their attendance. The party will go on, but I’m a bit annoyed that I have not received confirmation.
Thanks for any suggestions.

People are rude like that nowadays??? if you want to know for sure i would suggest that you call them!!! I’m sure the children would be devastated if they came and you didn’t have enough things to include them!! It’s not the child’s fault their parents are slack, give them a call and find out for sure!!

you know i’ve had the same irritation the past few years about this one…people seem to disregard the “RSVP” on the invite. if it is a party that you are in need of a head count, i would make the calls. i have had it go both ways, regardless of whether they have RSVPed or not, sometimes they show anyway. maybe in the future you could try putting RSVP by a certain date. that may make the need of the RSVP more apparent.

Call them because you don’t want to assume they arent coming and then they show up.

When the person (or people) show up that didn’t RSVP, have a confused/surprised look on your face. When they say something or give you a look back just say, “oh, I didn’t realize you were coming” or “I never heard back from you…” . See how that works!!

i would call them ..when i arranged a birthday party for my son..i had like 20 people invited..none of which RSVP ..so i had to call them all to ask if they were coming or not..turned out they were all coming..just were not bothered letting me know…apparently i was just supposed to “guess” that they will show up.
