Childrens Party Ideas

Nothing is more memorable then when we have great birthday parties while we were growing up. The presents themselves are soon forgotten, but what is not forgotten is the great childrens party ideas our parent’s came up with.

This site is dedicated to offer the very best childrens party ideas! Now, a birthday party doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive to be a hit. We’ve found with our kids that sometimes the simplest ideas are the best!

Childrens party ideas

One thing that we love to do is allow our children to have a sleep over party. Basically, my wife and I become the moderators of the party and we will create the atmosphere for fun!

We will start the night with a chance for the kids to chat each other up and get acquanted. This will generally take about one hour.

Next we start getting a fun kids food going. We’ve had extreme success with ‘do it yourself’ pizzas. I will create the dough or just donair shells, and allow the kids to put on what ever they want on their pizzas. With experience, I found that letting the kids choose their toppings and allowing us to put them on, is the best method. This will generally take about one hour in total as well.

After the kids have chowed down, we will usually play some games. One game the kids really enjoy is karioke. It’s simple, and fun for all ages. Other games can be the simple games such as pin the tail on the donkey and such. Choose games that are age appropiate. Actually ask your children what they would like to play in advance. That’s usually the best bet at discovering the best childrens party ideas! Offering simple prizes such as candies and treats go over well here.

Next, we get into cake cutting and present unwrapping. By the time that this is done, the kids have been going strong for at least three hours. If you started the sleepover at around 5pm, you will be looking at 8pm by this time.

Cooling the Kids Down

A nice cool down, and again this is age appropiate, is to allow the kids to watch movies for the next couple of hours. We will normally shut the kids down by 11pm at the very latest. This is age appropiate for kids 12 and older.

The kids will normally start waking around 9am the next morning and we will normally serve a breakfast of pancakes or waffles. Again, a very inexpensive but effective breakfast. If done with a bit of finesse, it makes it feel like the party hasn’t stopped for the kids! Simple, cheap and really neat! How’s that for a childrens party idea?

By the time breakfast is finished, the kids will normally play until 10 or 11am when the parents are scheduled to pick up their children.

What would a party such as this run? We find around $50 to $150 depending on the number of children and the age. Looking at the price of parties at business establishments, this is dirt cheap!

This site is dedicated to create a ton of greate ideas for childrens parties. If you have any great childrens party ideas, I’d love you to leave a comment!

Thanks!

Frank.
